Having been taught to play guitar by my Dad aged 7, I started playing the drums in my teens. Soon after finding my Grandad’s old jazz kit in the attic I discovered the band Nirvana. The rest is history…
In my early twenties I co-founded the band DumDums and although it was relatively short lived, we released the album ‘It Goes Without Saying,’ (which reached #27 in the UK music charts), four top 30 singles and toured the world with the likes of Robbie Williams, Paul Weller, Snow Patrol and Bon Jovi before splitting up in 2001. In 2009 I directed a documentary about it all called ‘The Ghost Gets Around,’ you can watch it here.
Since then I have played on recordings by Mania, Girls Aloud, Rogue States and Lissie and worked with a variety of producers including Steve Power (Feeder) and Bill Reynolds from Band Of Horses.
Over the years I have toured throughout the UK, Europe and Japan, playing pretty much every venue from the Barfly in Camden to Wembley Stadium, along with major festivals such as Glastonbury, V, Isle of Wight and T in the Park.
In 2006 / 2007 I toured extensively as drum tech and live keyboard player for Razorlight, which included a number of high-profile TV performances, such as ‘Later with Jools Holland’.
Currently I play drums for American singer-songwriter Lissie and I also have my own indie rock band Rogue States, based here in the UK.
I am a multi-instrumentalist (Drums, Percussion, Vocals, Guitar and Keys) and a songwriter and have also recently started directing short films, music videos and documentaries (see my video page).
